I'm just about to start a Social Sciences course, which will eventually mean I'll be going on to a degree in Politics and Sociology. It's drastically different from what I was doing last year with my photography, but I'm hoping, really hoping, that this course will give me some balls and confidence to start tackling documentary photography at a higher level. I'd love for it to give me some inspiration.
I'd love to keep going with photography and education, but realistically, I can't afford to do it. I can't keep a job and keep the time consuming course going, and I can't keep the course going without getting some money in. It's annoying to say the least, but it's not the end of the world. I'll be keeping up with my photography, and I'm taking this as the opportunity to take on different styles of work and to make a change from the portraiture that I've stuck to for so long.
My new job isn't fantastic, but it's some money that's coming in - I don't like working the hours for such little money, but considering I get no EMA/Bursary/massive student loan, it's much, much better than having nothing. Currently having to work all weekend, and long hours at that, so it's not leaving much time for any artistic endevour.
Hopefully soon going to start a new project - I'm going to recreate some photographs that my Dad shot during the eighties on film in Glasgow City Centre. I'm not sure whether I'll take them digitally or on film, I might even do both.
Recently, I've taken some shots using my Grandfather's Kershaw Penguin Camera - it's probably about the most basic camera I've ever used! Even so, it's fun. It uses 120 roll film, something I've not really worked with before. It's pretty much a guessing game when it comes to getting the exposure right, but it'll be interesting to see how they turn out. I've been using Fujifilm Velvia 100 with the camera, with one roll of expired film, and one not to try and get some interesting results and colour casts. Here's hoping this is something like the results I get;

I was wondering if I could use some to analyse in my photography coursework for college. I am not going to claim them as my own work and I will give you full credit if I can use some.
Thank you for whatever you decide.

I've got to say what I've got to say
and then I swear I'll go away,
but I can't promise you'll enjoy the noise.
